All students of En Garde, and any fencers wanting to participate in its events, are affiliated to this body.
The primary function of this body is to organise competitions, co-ordinate major projects, sustain the squad and increase the availability of electrical equipment. The mission of the current strategic plan is to establish a permanent venue for En Garde School of Fencing.
The council consists of representatives of each club, the squad leadership and the maitre.
Affiliation
is within a three-tier structure, although aarrangements differ from
club-to-club. These are the conditions which generally apply:
School sport quarterly tuition includes affiliation: fees include entry to school league tournaments.
Peninsular Swords and False Bay fencing Clubs have a series of competitions, as well as a number of activities for their members. The quarterly tuition fees includes affiliation to the council. Club membership is payable per annum. Check the club page for details.
En Garde squad membership of R140 for competitive fencers payable quarterly. Fencers showing their readiness for this more advanced programme are invited to join this group. Membership is an integral part of the "En Garde Competitive Programme", and as such, they have a responsibility to participate fully in training activities. They belong to a group which is mutually dependant, and each member has a significant role to play. If selected to represent En Garde at targeted national and provincial events the council pays the entry fees, as well as their FWC and SAAFA affiliation.
